Q: What is the difference between the Hydro 7000 series, and the Nitro 8000 series of shocks?

A: The unproblematic respond is Nitrogen. But the unproblematic respond isn't as unproblematic as it seems. The Hydro 7000 cushion is an oil dampened cushion built for the rigors of occasional off road use. As the piston moves up and down in the cylinder, the oil that is used to hold piston move is passed through the piston. Each time the piston cycles, low bubbles conformation in the oil. During highway driving this isn't noticeable, but under repeated long cycling that happens when you're on the trail, the oil stool become effervescing and the cushion loses its dampening ability.

This is where the Nitro 8000 comes into act. As the name implies, the Nitro 8000 is filled with nitrogen. The cushion tube is pressurized with Nitrogen to 150psi. The nitrogen displaces any aerate that was in the cushion tube. The result is greatly reduced bubbling of the cushion oil.
